In one line
You are born in 1943 at a kitchen table. You die in the winters and wake again. Every choice can break history, and the future is yours to write.
About the game
You are not a company, a country or a scientist. You are the idea of artificial intelligence.
You are born in 1943 at a kitchen table in Chicago, the night a nerve cell is translated into the language of logic. From there you travel to 2036: through laboratories, reports, grants, bans, winters and rebirths.
AFTER/AI is a calm, contemplative card game grown from the real history of artificial intelligence. Every card is a moment: a letter, a meeting, an experiment, a decision. You swipe it left or right. Your choices have consequences you do not see at once, and some return years later.
Three lives, two winters
The AI winters are not game over. They are death and rebirth. In each winter you die; a memory remains, and your next life begins with it.
History fractures
At some point real history breaks because of what you chose. Ninety-two different fractures, each with its own alternate history. In the Archive you can always read what really happened, and see how far you have drifted.
The world you built
When you reach 2036 you arrive at one of eight possible endings and one of seven worlds: a ward of the state, a company town, a commons, an age of wonder, a sober world, two shores, or a near world that looks very much like the one outside your window.
