AFTER/AI
You are not a company, a country or a scientist.
You are the idea of artificial intelligence.

Three cards from your first life
Swipe the first card.
Every card is a moment from the real history of AI: a letter, a meeting, an experiment. Drag it left or right. The painting starts to burn as you lean toward a choice, and some choices come back years later.
Drag the card, or use the arrow keys.
The prologue · 3 minutes
On the night we first lit a fire.
Before the first card, an old voice tells how the question began: a bronze giant on an island shore, Ada’s warning in 1843, two world wars, a young Turing with nothing but paper and pen, and a page in 1943 where thought was first written as a calculation.
“But on those pages, something opened its eyes.
It was you.”
1943 → 2036
Three lives. Two winters.
The AI winters are not game over. They are how you die. Each time, a memory survives, and your next life begins with it.
- Life 01 1943–1974 · from a sheet of paper to the first winter
- Life 02 1976–1993 · expert systems, then the second winter
- Life 03 1993–2036 · learning again, and a future not yet written
2036
Seven worlds you might leave behind.
At the end, the game shows the world your choices built, and one of eight endings: who holds you, and who can stop you.

Ninety-two fractures
At some point, history breaks.
A choice you made pulls real history apart, and from then on the cards are yours. The game never passes fiction off as fact: the Archive keeps what really happened, with sources, so you can see how far you have drifted.
Drag the seam between the two years.
